Mosque

Project information

The mosque is designed to reflect the contemporary Islamic aspiration of traditional mosque design. The building architectural language is kept quite modern contemporary that is carried throughout the design.
This mosque is defined by grey concrete fins connected with wooden horizontal rafters which elegantly defines the pathway and entrance of the mosque. The arabesque screens on the façade articulates the Islamic architecture with the eight-pointed star pattern and compliments the white marble flooring. The arabesque screen not only severs as a design element but also provides the benefit of daylight and ventilation. The wooden pointed arches with arabesque partial screens defining access into prayer hall, the sehan also serves functional purpose allowing the people to pray during congregational prayers.
The exquisite features of the mosque are its minaret and domes, the rectangular shaped minaret compromises of a hollow space in top half allowing space for the speaker and becomes a unique feature of the mosque. Domes of the mosque are two-tiered design; the top tier being solid half and bottom tier is glass. The tiers rest elegantly on the glass squinch which compliments the overall white and grey façade.
